Six-Week Countdown to Easter Week 3

This is the week we should focus on making and buying all those Easter basket stuffers. Due to current situations, this is the perfect time to break out those yarn stashes and make some cute items. I have created a few printables for you to use below.

This year might make for an Easter unlike those we have previously experienced. However, Easter is not just about the bunny, the basket, and new clothes. It’s a celebration of new life. In this chaotic and uncertain time, we can certainly use a new beginning (and some TP).

Use this free printable to keep track of the gifts you’re making (and those you’ve purchased).

While preparing for your own Easter celebration, don’t forget about your shut- in neighbors. Check on them, especially those who are elderly or have health conditions that don’t allow them to leave their homes right now. See what you can do to help them. My daughter’s church is considering Easter Bunny visits to some of their congregation. This would be a cute idea to help spread joy during this uncertain time. You could deliver an Easter basket of goodies, or spread plastic filled eggs in the front yard for those with small children at home. You could also help out those less fortunate by donating  to charitable efforts. Meals on Wheels America, local food banks, and in the Tulsa, OK area: John 3:16 Mission are a few that come to mind. Google charitable institutions in your area and find some near you.

It’s also time to start planning your holiday dinner. Shop your pantry and freezer first and purchase needed items by using Walmart grocery pick up or your local grocery store pick up. (Hopefully they will still have the items you need in stock. My area is pretty picked over these days.)

Grocery pickup is one of those ways to practice social distancing. I’ve noticed some stores even offering delivery. If your local grocer has this available, you can take advantage of current sale items. Just use your weekly flyer and select your sales items from there. If you can get them, try to purchase all of your non-perishable dinner items this week and next.

I am a big proponent of make ahead food items. Now is also the time to clean out your fridge and freezer to make room for all of your holiday meal prep.
