Six-Week Countdown to Easter

Week 1–March 15-21, 2020

I don’t know about you, but I tend to lose track of how fast time is passing by. I’m just getting over Christmas, then it’s Valentine’s Day, and then suddenly Easter!

It’s actually the perfect time to start thinking about Easter. It gives us time to plan for all the holiday gatherings. We usually have an Easter party at my sister-in-law’s and a celebration at my mom’s on or close to Easter Sunday. I am a fan of Cynthia Ewer’s Christmas Countdown, so I thought to myself that I needed a countdown for the other holidays, too. On the same lines as her Christmas Countdown, I am creating a holiday countdown of my own for Easter.  I’d love to have you all join me!

The first thing we need to do is grab a three-ring binder, a planner, or just a plain spiral notebook. This will serve as our planning headquarters.

Second, we will need to make a section for Easter Cards. I haven’t sent Easter cards before, but I’ve seen them at the store and would like to begin sending them.  There’s something exciting about finding a card in your mailbox. We’re so used to technology that we no longer have tangible cards, just virtual ones. I think it would be nice to send some actual cards this year. Of course, this means a trip to the store, maybe Hobby Lobby…..I digress. Or, we could just use our technology and look up Easter cards on Amazon. 🙂

Next we’ll need something to put behind our Easter Cards tab. I’ve created a printable Easter Card List  that you can download. A few other helpful tools you might need for your planning would be:

  • a favorite pen or pencil
  • hole punch
  • scissors
  • stickers
  • Easter magazines
  • cookbooks
  • Easter cards
  • stamps

Now let’s designate a place for all of your Easter planning tools to live. A cute basket or even a plastic storage container will work just fine. Add a lap desk and any comfortable chair can become a place to plan!

Try to spend at least 15 minutes every day this week to get your ‘eggs in a row’, so to speak. So, gather your planning tools and let’s hop to it!
