Beach Outfit for Belly Button Barbie

This beach outfit will get your Barbie doll ready for the beach! It’s the perfect addition to your doll’s summer wardrobe!

This crochet pattern is designed to fit both belly-button type and traditional waist dolls. The pattern includes instructions for a trendy bandeau top, stylish capri pants, and a fashionable sun hat. This will allow your doll to make a fashion statement wherever she goes.

I began with some Artiste crochet cotton in size 8. I used colors bright blue, bright pink, and ivory. I also used a size D (3.25mm) crochet hook, a small clear elastic band, and a yarn needle (to weave in ends).

BANDEAU TOP

I began with the top. Using the bright blue thread, I ch 22, joined together to form a circle and ch 2.

For the second round, I HDC around and joined to the top of the CH 2 with a SL stitch. Then CH 2.

I then began the first tie. SC in first 9 stitches, CH 8, turn, and working back down the CH, DC in fourth CH from hook. DC in next 2 CHs, HDC in next CH, SC in last CH, SL stitch into the last SC used on top of front. Finish off.

For the second tie: skip the next 2 stitches, join with a SL stitch into the next stitch, CH 8, turn, and working back down the CH, DC in the fourth stitch from hook, DC in next 2 CHs, HDC in next CH, SC in the last stitch. SL stitch in the beginning SC. SC in last 9 stitches, join with a SL stitch into the top of the beginning CH and finish off.

Tie the ties together.

CUFFED CAPRIS

Starting at the waist, with the bright pink, work 30 SC over elastic band. Join with a SL stitch to first SC to form a ring. CH 2. DO NOT TURN WORK.

Rnds 2-4: HDC in each stitch around, joining with a SL stitch to the top of CH 2.

First Leg:

Rnd 1: HDC in next 14 stitches. Join to top of CH 2, CH 2.

Rnds 2-11: HDC in each stitch around, joining to the top of CH 2 and CH 2 after each round.

Rnd 12: HDC in each stitch around, join with a SL stitch to the top of CH 2, CH 3.

Rnd 13: WORKING IN FRONT LOOPS ONLY to form cuff, DC around, join with a SL stitch in top of CH 2. Fasten off.

Finishing:

Roll up cuffs on bottom of capris.

BEACH HAT

With ivory thread, CH 3, join to form a ring. CH 3. Work 10 HDC into center of ring. Join with a SL stitch in the top of CH 2. CH 3.

Rnd 2: HDC in same stitch. 2 HDC in each of the remaining stitches. Join with a SL stitch in the top of CH 3. CH 3.

Rnd 3: HDC in each stitch around. Join with a SL stitch in top of CH 3. CH 2.

Rnd 4: WORKING IN FRONT LOOPS ONLY, HDC around, join with a SL stitch into beginning CH 2. CH 2.

Rnd 5: *DC in same stitch, 2 DC in next stitch*, repeat from * to * around. CH 3.

Rnd 6: DC in first 2 stitches. *2 DC in next stitch, DC in next 2 stitches*, repeat from * to * around. CH 3

Rnd 7: DC in first 3 stitches. *2 DC in next stitch. DC in next 3 stitches*, repeat from * to * around. Join with a SL stitch into top of CH 3. Fasten off.

Finishing:

To create fringe around hat, SL stitch into any stitch, CH 1, fasten off. Snip strings short.

Rnd 1: *Skip next stitch, SL stitch into next stitch. CH 1, fasten off. Snip strings short*. Repeat from * to * around brim of hat. Fasten off.
