Objective:

Children will build fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sea life vocabulary, and imaginative play as they catch and identify different sea animals.

Directions For This Activity:

1. Print the six Sea Life Fishing patterns on cardstock or sturdy paper.
2. Let children color the sea animals, then cut them out.
3. Attach a paper clip to each sea animal.
4. Make a fishing pole by tying string to a wooden dowel or stick and attaching a magnet to the other end.
   
5. Spread a blue sheet or blanket on the floor to create an “ocean” and scatter the sea animals across it.
6. Invite children to use the magnetic fishing pole to catch the sea creatures.
7. Encourage children to name, count, or sort the animals they catch.
